White Knuckle Racing driver Tim Fiedler talks about his plans on running the 2007 season.
1/5/2007-WHITE KNUCKLE RACING PR Round Rock, TX

What do you hope to gain as a rookie this year? "Well, as any rookie will tell you the most valuable asset to gain their rookie season is seat time. I also hope to gain the respect of my fellow competitors, because without respect from your competitors they let you know you don't have it and you'll be doing alot of extra body work every week because of it."

Do you plan on running just Thunderhill Raceway? "I haven't decided just yet. I hope to be able to run a few races at San Antonio Speedway with the Roadrunner division, as well as a few races at Houston Motorsports Park in their Hobby Stock class. Really, it all comes down to how much funds we have available to run select races at different tracks."

What would you like to accomplish in the 2007 season? " I hope to win a race or two. The competition in the Hobby Stock class at Thunderhill is getting tougher and tougher every year. I also hope to win "Rookie of the year" honors as well. Another thing I would like to accomplish is to race smart. I did alot of talking about how good I plan on being, so hopefully I won't eat my words.

How many races do you plan on winning this year? "All of them (laughs). Realistically I just want to be consistently fast at every track I race at and wins will follow. It wouldn't hurt my feelings at all if I came away with a few wins this year. Maybe we can win some right out of the box and impress some people and potential sponsors."

What help have you received this year from other competitors? "Alot, it ranges from advise on how to drive the track, to physical labor on the car. My brother has been helping alot with getting the car ready and telling me what I should get for it. Clint Lafont (2005 THR Street Stock Rookie Of The Year) has been helpful in helping me fabricate some parts as well. Tommy and Teresa Gural with Gural Racing have given lots of advice and are building my motor. Terry's Body Shop in Taylor, Tx has motivated me to get out there and they have always done a good job painting our cars in the past, so I know my car will look great on the track. Everyone else just gives support and says that they can't wait for the infamous debut."

How Close is the car to being race-ready? "It's almost there, just a few minor things to do and it will be ready to paint. Finding a set of heads for the motor has been the biggest holdup. We are still looking for a set of them we can use,and once we get them Tommy Gural will have the motor done in no time. Then we can start getting the car setup and go out and get some practice in before the season starts.
